Mackenzie Wheeler was established in 1986 by Rupert Wheeler and Duncan Mackenzie and specialises in providing Architecture, Interior Design and Project Management to the Hospitality, Entertainment and Leisure sectors.

In London we have developed the Livebait and Chez Gerard bar and restaurant brands for Groupe Chez Gerard; Corporate Entertaining suites for Berry Bros and Rudd in St. James; retail units for Ermenegildo Zegna in Harrods, New Bond Street, Sloane Street and Covent Garden; refurbishment and restoration of spa and leisure facilities at the Royal Automobile Club on Pall Mall; Bar 38 at the Minories for Scottish & Newcastle; The Real Greek Souvlaki & Bar in Hoxton, Clerkenwell, Bankside and Putney; refurbishment of Adam House to provide a new private members club; redevelopment proposals for West Thames College; architectural and landscaping services for Hounslow Manor School, St Hildas East in Bethnal Green, Market Sports in Shoreditch and the ‘Brasserie Luxe’ restaurant W’Sens in St. James.

As consultants we have also provided design support for a number of projects including the total refurbishment of London’s 5 star Landmark Hotel.

In the regions we were appointed to undertake the restoration of Hankridge Farmhouse in Somerset; Goffs Manor in Crawley; the redevelopment of Springs Health Farm in Leicestershire; Grape Bar for Scottish & Newcastle in Edinburgh; the new Four Seasons Hotel and Spa development in Hampshire; development proposal for the Hendré Spa and hotel in Monmounth and a spa development for Botleigh Grange in Southampton.

Internationally we have worked on a programme of health clubs and spas with Wheway Lifestyle for Oberoi Hotels, including the new Rajvilas development in Jaipur; a mixed use park resort project in Sharm El Sheikh, Sinai; a Thelassotherapy Spa in Skhirat, Morocco; a tourism development masterplan for the Varadero Peninsular, Cuba; and a portfolio of 8 hotel and spa resort projects for Sol Melia, in the Caribbean. As consultants, we have also provided design support on projects such as Villa Erques, Tenerife; The Ritz Carlton, Dubai; The Saratoga Hotel, Havana; The Royal Mirage, Dubai; Las Dunas, Algarve, Portugal and the Don Quixote Resort Development, La Mancha, Spain.
